DR. ALLI BRATTIN-VOLKENS
Owner and Founder
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Alli Brattin-Volkens started Empowered Physical Therapy in 2019 with a vision to create something different – a place where people feel seen, cared for, and truly supported through every step of their healing and performance journey.
After just a few years working in the traditional healthcare system, Alli realized she couldn’t keep practicing in a way that didn’t align with her values. She was tired of insurance limitations, rushed appointments, and systems that prioritized productivity over people. So she left. And she built something better.
Empowered began as a one-woman operation and has grown into a thriving, values-driven clinic rooted in community, integrity, and trust. Every part of the experience – from the one-on-one care model to the environment and team culture – has been built with intention.
Alli earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Saint Mary in 2016. Before that, she played collegiate basketball at Emporia State University, where she helped lead her team to an NCAA Division II National Championship and was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament in 2010. Her background as an athlete continues to influence her movement-first approach and her passion for helping people reconnect with their bodies in powerful ways.
Today, Alli leads a growing team, mentors other clinicians, and continues to shape the direction of Empowered as both a provider and a CEO. She brings equal parts expertise and heart to her work and believes the best outcomes come when we treat the whole person, not just the injury.
Outside the clinic, Alli is mom to two young kids, Brixlee and Decker, who are at the heart of her “why.” They remind her every day that leadership starts at home – and that the legacy she’s building isn’t just about business, but about people, presence, and impact that lasts.
